The Brewers jumped on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Dodgers early Monday night, and a 7-4 win in Game 2 gives Milwaukee a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. Teams that trail 2-0 in the League Championship Series have historically gone 8-51. The Brewers get a night off before the series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday.
In the late game, the Guardians waited out Rays starter Drew Rasmussen and then went after the Tampa Bay bullpen, winning Game 1 of the ALCS 7-3.
Both pennant winners reached the Championship Series by winning in the Division Series. The Dodgers beat the Braves, the Brewers beat the Padres, the Rays knocked out the Yankees, and the Guardians beat the White Sox. The Astros, Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies were eliminated in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.
